On the sidelines of the International Conference of Ministers of Culture in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi in Ashgabat, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrey Malyshev expressed readiness for joint cultural projects with Turkmenistan. The movie industry and exhibition activities were named as promising areas of cooperation. Russia and Turkmenistan regularly organize mutual Days of Culture. According to the Deputy Minister, today Russia emphasizes cinematography and can offer Turkmenistan cooperation in this area.
The sides noted the effectiveness of bilateral consultative meetings on the construction of a new building of the Pushkin Theater in Ashgabat. Andrey Malyshev also expressed hope that in the near future it will be possible to organize a tour of the famous conductor and head of the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theaters Valery Gergiev in Turkmenistan at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
