Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to make a joint movie about Makhtumkuli

Following the results of the media forum held in Ashgabat, Turkmen and Uzbek filmmakers agreed to shoot a joint feature film about Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This is reported by the Internet publication "Greater Asia".

At present, the script approval procedure is underway. The filmmakers plan to shoot the movie in the small homeland of Makhtumkuli in the Sumbar valley of the Balkan province of Turkmenistan and in Uzbekistan - in the cities of Khiva and Bukhara.

A Turkmen actor will play the main role in the joint Turkmen-Uzbek movie. Shooting a feature film about the Turkmen poet and philosopher will be one of the international events timed to coincide with the wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi in 2024 in Turkmenistan and abroad.
