Turkmenistan and Hungary discuss economic cooperation in Ashgabat

The sixth session of the Turkmen-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in the capital of Turkmenistan on September 29-30, 2025. The bilateral forum was attended by heads of ministries, agencies and representatives of business communities of both countries. It is reported Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Mammetgula Astanagulov and Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Adam Stifter.

The participants of the meeting analyzed the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting and identified new promising areas of partnership. Among the topics discussed were cooperation in agriculture, food industry, water management, health care and medical industry.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of signing the Agreement on Encouragement and Mutual Protection of Investments as soon as possible, which will create legal conditions for the inflow of Hungarian investments in Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting the Minutes were signed and the next meeting was decided to be held in Budapest.
