Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia B.Niyazliyev met in Moscow with CIS Deputy Executive Secretary I.Nematov, during which Turkmenistan expressed its intention to strengthen cooperation within the CIS. They also discussed other issues of partnership in the Commonwealth format.
The participants of the event reviewed a number of documents signed during the year 2020, emphasizing the priority of implementation of the decisions outlined in them. In particular, they touched upon the Strategy of economic development of the CIS, developed until 2030, as well as the program of innovative interaction between the states.
Nematov praised Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at strengthening economic cooperation in the CIS format. This is especially true for the energy, transport and logistics spheres and cross-border economic cooperation.
The participants of the meeting agreed to maintain permanent working contacts in the framework of joint actions scheduled for 2021 and held on the platforms of the Commonwealth. And the closest of them will be a meeting of the Commission on Economy under the CIS Economic Council. It is scheduled for February 17, 2021. The event is expected to consider issues related to railway transport, scientific and technical cooperation and interaction in the field of electronic commerce.
