The conference "Turkmenistan and International Organizations: Cooperation for Peace and Development" chaired by Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov was held on January 14, 2020 in Turkmenistan as part of the UN-75 event. As a result, an appeal to the UN Secretary General was adopted, expressing the readiness of the Turkmen side to support initiatives and events held as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the UN.
Recall that on October 24, 2020, the United Nations will celebrate its 75th anniversary. On January 2, the UN Secretary General announced the launch of the UN-75 Planetary Dialogue, which aims to engage every citizen of the globe in a dialogue of comprehensive interaction. The motto of this initiative, "Together we build our future," fully reveals the desire to enable all the people of the world to contribute to the development of their own future.
The year 2020 is no less significant for Turkmenistan. This is the year when the country celebrates the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality, which has been recognized and supported by the UN.
As part of the celebration of such a large-scale event as the 75th anniversary of the UN, Turkmenistan approved the relevant Action Plan. The UN agencies in Turkmenistan participated in its development. As a part of the Plan, the UN Resident Coordinator, Ms. Elena Panova, held a meeting with students of the International University for Humanities and Development. In addition, lectures on the Sustainable Development Goals are held in the Training and Methodological Center.
Also planned for the near future is the launch of an essay contest among Turkmen schoolchildren on the theme of the 75th anniversary of the UN. The contest will be held in an online format.

The opinions and ideas expressed during the UN-75 Dialogue will be presented to world leaders by the Secretary General on September 21, 2020. The most active participants of the event will be invited to the UN House on October 24, where they will not only take part in the presentation of the Report of the UN Secretary General, but will also receive memorable souvenirs with "UN-75" symbols.
