During the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which was held in the online format, M. Chakyev announced the country's accession to the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Navigation of the International Maritime Organization. This was reported by the online publication "TurkmenPortal".
The decision to join the IMO Convention was made in order to expand international cooperation and improve trade relations of Turkmenistan with other countries. Accession to the Convention provides for the improvement of national legislation, enhancing the efficiency of the maritime fleet and ensuring the safety of maritime traffic in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea.
Summarizing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the responsible persons to implement practical steps in this direction.
