Yesterday, January 17, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a working meeting with Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Shinas. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Mr. Shinas conveyed the greetings of the EU leadership and stressed the interest of the European Union in further expansion of cooperation with Turkmenistan.
For his part, President Berdimuhamedov warmly welcomed the distinguished guest from Brussels and expressed confidence that the visit would strengthen the multifaceted partnership between the countries.
During the meeting, the positive development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU was noted. In particular, European companies are active in many sectors of Turkmenistan's economy.
The sides also discussed prospects for further cooperation, including in the transportation and logistics sector. President Berdimuhamedov assured European partners that Turkmenistan would actively participate in the upcoming investment forum on transportation in Brussels.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in further effectiveness of cooperation and exchanged wishes.
