Turkmenistan to maintain quotas for Tajik students

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during talks with Tajikistan's Head of State Emomali Rakhmon said about preserving quotas for Tajik students to study in Turkmen universities. This was reported by the Westiabad online edition.

The sides noted the positive dynamics in the development of cooperation in the educational sphere. This was evidenced by the construction of the Makhtumkuli Secondary General Education School in Dusti, Khatlon Province of Tajikistan, the groundbreaking ceremony for which was attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in May last year.

The bilateral talks resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Center for Advanced Training and Retraining of Diplomatic Service Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
