Turkmenistan Sambo Team Wins 21 Awards at Asian and Oceania Championships

The national sambo team of Turkmenistan won 21 awards at the Asian and Oceania Championship held in Macao. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age." 

A total of 244 sambo wrestlers from 20 Asian and Oceania countries took part in the large-scale competition among men and women. The athletes competed in 28 weight categories in two disciplines - combat and sport sambo.

According to the results of the intense struggle for the title of the strongest, the Turkmen national team won two gold, six silver and thirteen bronze awards. The Turkmen sambo wrestlers were third in the overall medal standings, behind the teams from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Turkmen athletes Byagul Nuryeva and Rushana Nurdzhavova won gold medals at the championship.
