He wished his colleague health and well-being, and to the people of Poland - prosperity and peaceful skies over their heads.
Poles celebrate a national holiday every year on November 11. This year the Republic celebrates the 104th anniversary of independence. State flags are hoisted solemnly in all cities, and festive events, parades and festivals are held. Television broadcasts historical films. Mass festivities with performances and fairs with national dishes take place in the streets of large cities.
On November 11, 1918, an armistice was signed in Compiègne. World War I ended. It is believed that on this day Poland became an independent state. The date got the official status of a national holiday in 1937.
