Six students and a teacher of the tourism faculty of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture traveled to Kazakhstan to participate in a regional training August 27-29. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."
The training, which will take place in Almaty, is organized by the EU and UNESCO within the framework of the joint project "Silk Road Heritage Corridors in Central Asia - International Aspects of the European Year of Cultural Heritage".
Participants of the training will be future tourist guides from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The project is aimed at improving the level of training and professionalism of future tourist guides, popularization and preservation of the intangible heritage of the Great Silk Road and development of the tourism industry in the Central Asian region.
