The Turkmen delegation took part in the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government in Minsk

A meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Minsk on September 29, 2025. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the event was attended by the heads of government of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan was represented by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimiradov, and Armenia participated in the videoconference format through Deputy Prime Minister M. Grigoryan. During the meeting, the participants considered 15 issues, including the approval of the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development for 2026-2035. The document is aimed at strengthening scientific and technological sovereignty and enhancing the competitiveness of the economies of the member states.

The participants also approved the draft Strategy for Digitalization of the Commonwealth's main transport corridors, which envisages optimization of logistics processes and improvement of transportation efficiency. In addition, the participants approved the Strategy for Cooperation in the Development of Information Society and Digital Economy until 2035 with the relevant implementation plan.

Other important decisions include the adoption of the Action Plan for the implementation of the second phase of the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030 and preparations for the Year of Health Protection in the Commonwealth in 2026.

The meeting also addressed the issues of financing the united air defense system, budget execution of the CIS bodies, as well as measures to improve the quality of life of veterans and search for missing servicemen.

The next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government is scheduled for the first half of 2026 in Turkmenistan.
