Turkmen cuisine became the subject of a Chinese TV channel's program

Traditional Turkmen cuisine was the subject of a recent program of the Chinese TV channel CGTN devoted to Asian cuisine. This is reported by the online edition "Westiabad."

Turkmen cuisine is diverse and includes dishes common to Turkic peoples - pilaf, kuirdak and kebab. But there are also original traditional dishes in the national cuisine of Turkmenistan, which are not found anywhere else - for example, tamdyrlama and dograma.

Tamdyrlama is a meat dish cooked in a tandoor. Boiled onions, carrots and potatoes are served with meat. Dograma is a mixture of shredded bread, boiled mutton, curd fat and onions. Dograma can be served with broth or dry.

Turkmen traditional cuisine has recently become increasingly popular outside the country. For example, at the international festival Embrace the world, Embrace the diversity in China, dograma was recognized as the best dish of the festival.
