Turkmen athletes have successfully completed the World Kyokushinkai Karate World Cup in Jakarta, winning two gold and two silver awards. This is reported in the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
340 karateka from 13 countries took part in the tournament. Turkmenistan was represented at the competition by 8 karate athletes. The winners of "gold" were D. Gylychdurdyev, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, and O. Kurbanova, a coach-teacher of the National Kyokushinkai Karate Center of the country. The awards were won in the weight up to 65 kg among men and among women.
Silver medals were awarded to G. Yazylova, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, in the weight category up to 55 kg and A. Sultanova, a coach-teacher of the 5th Dashoguz Sports School of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Dashoguz province, in the weight category up to 65 kg.
