Turkmen filmmakers to travel to India for shooting

The Oguzkhan Turkmenfilm Association will shoot a movie about Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi in India. This is reported by the TurkmenPortal online publication.

From April 7 to 14, the film crew will work in places associated with Turkmen and poets Makhtumkuli and Bairam Khan, the guardian and mentor of Akbar, the ruler of the Mughal Empire. One of the sites to be filmed will be the Turkmen Gate in New Delhi, built in the 17th century in the name of Turkmen warriors.

The film will include episodes filmed at the National Library of India, as well as interviews with Indian researchers studying the creative legacy of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This film will be part of a series of documentaries filmed in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Astrakhan region of Russia in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
