Turkmen diplomat meets with the Head of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia

On January 31, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia D. Seyitmammadov met with the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia R. Metreveli. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the expansion of scientific and educational cooperation, reforms implemented in Georgia and Turkmenistan, as well as achievements in academic activities.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia informed about this year's celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi and declaration of 2024 in Turkmenistan as the year of "Treasure of Makhtumkuli Fraghi's Mind".

The President of the Academy put forward a proposal to hold an international conference dedicated to Makhtumkuli Fraghi. The parties reached an agreement to maintain ties between the Academies of Sciences of the two countries.
