The Turkmen Wheat Museum is a symbol of the people's commitment to ancestral traditions and customs

In 2005, the National Museum of Wheat Ak bugdaý was opened in Turkmenistan, which is a symbol of spiritual traditions and customs of the Turkmen people. This was reported by the Internet publication Vestiabad.

The museum is a three-story building topped with a huge golden wheat ear framed by a two-tiered crown of ears. The museum exhibits tell about the history of the origin of agriculture in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains.

The museum displays samples of wheat grains dating back five thousand years, found during archaeological excavations by scientist Rafael Pampeli in the city of Anau. Among the exhibited items in the museum are ancient grain grinders, hand millstones, a sesame oil press, as well as a bronze hoe, arrowhead, bronze knife, and fragments of pottery.

Frequent visitors of the museum are foreign guests.
