Turkmen weightlifter wins gold and a ticket to the Olympic Games

Turkmen weightlifter Davranbek Hasanbayev won a gold medal at the World Cup in weightlifting held in Phuket, Thailand. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

A 23-year-old fifth-year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport won a gold medal in snatch in the weight category up to 102 kg. Another 40 weightlifters competed with the Turkmen athlete. Davranbek successfully realized three attempts, lifting weights of 180 kg, 185 kg and 187 kg. The Turkmen athlete took 14th place in the jerk, and 5th place in the sum of the two-round competition.

Davranbek became the winner of a ticket to the Olympic Games-2024. The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) will publish the final Olympic qualification ranking of athletes on May 24.
