Students of Turkmenistan's schools participated in the Caspian Sea Olympiad in absentia

Students of schools of Turkmenistan took part in the qualifying round of the XVI Caspian Olympiad in absentia. The Astrakhan State University (ASU) was the organizer of the intellectual contest, in which about 5,000 people from various Russian regions and Caspian Sea countries decided to try themselves. This year the most popular subjects were social studies, English and Russian languages and mathematics.

Every year more and more regions take part in this intellectual competition. This year, not only high school students from southern Russia - Kalmykia, Volgograd region, North Ossetia-Alania and Dagestan - but also their peers from Yaroslavl region, Udmurtia, the Far East regions and Siberia decided to demonstrate their knowledge. Students from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were also able to participate in the online tour by correspondence.

As noted in the Department of Pre-University Education and Work with Applicants of ASU, in comparison with the Olympiads of previous years, students from Kalmykia became more active. This was made possible thanks to close cooperation between the State University and the Elista Classical Gymnasium. It was given the role of a platform, where not only absentee, but also in-person rounds of this intellectual competition will be held.

The results of the qualifying stage will be announced in mid-February. Those students who successfully pass this round will receive invitations to participate in the main (final) round of the Olympiad. Graduate students who are among the winners and runners-up will have 10 points added to their overall CSE scores if they decide to enroll at ASU in 2022.
