USAID provides assistance to Turkmen farmers

The U.S. Agency for International Development USAID is assisting Turkmen manufacturer Yigit in obtaining GLOBAL G.A.P. certification, according to a press release from the U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan.

Yigit is one of the largest tomato producers in Turkmenistan and the first in the country to receive this international certification. The company employs more than 600 people and has over 80 hectares of land in the Kaahki etrap of the Akhal province. As a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, Yigit Farm exports its products and also sells them on the domestic market.
