Today in the capital of Turkmenistan more than 190 thousand test systems for detection of coronavirus infection worth about € 998 thousand were handed over to the Ministry of Health and MHMTT. Modern PCR diagnostic tests were provided by UNDP within the project on strengthening of preparedness to respond to COVID-19.
The project has a budget of $ 20 million and is funded by the World Bank. The goal of cooperation between WHO, UNICEF, MHMT and the Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan is to strengthen further measures to prevent and control the spread of the dangerous virus.
Important tasks in this direction are to improve the skills of medical personnel, the procurement of drugs and diagnostic equipment. The partnership vector of the above-mentioned organizations is aimed at improving the digitalization of medicine in Turkmenistan to make preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19 even more effective.
Recall that during the entire pandemic, not a single case of coronavirus infection was registered in the country.
