In honor of the 79th anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter, an event was held in the UN building in Ashgabat on October 25. About it reports Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry and UN agencies in Ashgabat, as well as the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan. In his speech, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov noted the constructive and effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN.
On the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UNGA adopted 27 resolutions in various directions. During the 79th session of the UNGA, the resolution "Central Asian Zone of Peace, Confidence and Cooperation" was adopted.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on preparations for the next meeting of the Turkmenistan-United Nations Strategic Advisory Council.
