January 2 is a day off in Turkmenistan.
The corresponding decree was signed by Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov at a government meeting. This was reported by the news program "Vatan" of Turkmen television.
"Move the day off from January 1, 2023, to January 2 - Monday," reads the text of the document.
The decree prescribes that in order to create favorable conditions for the celebration of the New Year and a good holiday, as well as in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan to move the day off from January 1, 2023 to January 2 - Monday.
All institutions, enterprises and organizations of the country, regardless of their form of ownership, are ordered to ensure the implementation of this decree.
