The authorities of Turkmenistan plan to launch an electronic map of cargo movement. This was discussed at a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was attended by representatives of UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) and IRU (International Road Transport Union).
Setting up modern systematic accounting in this area is a key task for Turkmen officials, the success of which will determine the development of the country's foreign trade operations.
The participants discussed the prospects of introducing a map of transport routes in electronic form and the need to create a database on the movement of goods on the basis of the ASYCUDA customs system. The launch of these technologies will make it possible to consolidate information about any movement of vehicles in Turkmenistan.
Also at the online meeting, questions related to the introduction of the TIR-EPD system of preliminary declaration of international cargo and electronic registration of vehicles entering the country, including those in transit, were raised. This will help speed up the procedure for electronic permits at the border.
Foreign partners noted Turkmenistan's important role in international transport communication.
