Turkmenistan celebrates the International Day of Neutrality

On December 12, Turkmenistan celebrates the International Day of Neutrality, as well as the 29th anniversary of the UNGA resolution on the status of permanent neutrality of the country. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

Turkmenistan was recognized as a state with permanent neutrality on December 12, 1995 at the UN General Assembly. All 185 member states of the Organization unanimously voted in favor of this decision.

The status of permanent neutrality of the country contributes to the maintenance of the principles of democracy and humanism, as well as enables Turkmenistan to develop the country's economy and solve social issues with high efficiency. The neutral status also contributes to ensuring peace and security at the global and regional levels.
