Gulshat Mammedova, Chairman of Turkmenistan's Milli Gengesh (Parliament) Majlis, received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria Thomas Schuller Gotzburg on Wednesday, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported today.
During the meeting, the diplomat was briefed in detail on the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of independent and permanently neutral Turkmenistan and the implementation of major reforms initiated by the Turkmen leader, as well as major international projects. Thomas Schuller-Hotzburgh was briefed on projects being implemented in Turkmenistan in various economic sectors and the social sphere, as well as the structure and activities of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.
The plenipotentiary representative of Austria stressed his country's interest in enhancing cooperation with Turkmenistan and establishing contacts in various areas. At the end of the meeting, confidence was expressed that the interstate dialogue would develop in the interests of both countries and peoples. The sides also emphasized readiness to develop inter-parliamentary relations.
