Round table on biodiversity conservation held in Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan jointly with UNDP organized a round table for the staff of the Amudarya and Kaplankyr reserves, as well as for specialized specialists within the framework of the project "Conservation and sustainable management of land resources and ecosystems of high natural value in the Aral Sea basin for multiple benefits". The participants of the event discussed the progress of the project implementation with application of the management effectiveness assessment tool. The development of a five-year development plan for the Amudarya Nature Reserve and the Kelif reserve as part of it was comprehensively reviewed. Also, during the round table, the values of animal and plant abundance were established to assess the current state of the ecosystem.
