В. Volodin laid a wreath at the Turkmen "People's Memory" memorial

At the end of his visit to Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Russian State Duma and head of the Russian delegation Vyacheslav Volodin laid flowers at the memorial "People's Memory". This was reported by the official website of the Russian State Duma (duma.gov.ru).

The memorial complex is located in Ashgabat and consists of three sculptural compositions.

The composition "Sons of the Fatherland" is dedicated to the memory of the defenders of the Geok-Tepe fortress in 1881. "Eternal Glory" is a sculpture dedicated to the soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War. The monument "Spiritual Worship" is erected in memory of the victims of a major earthquake in 1948.

The Russian delegation, headed by Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vladimir Volodin, paid an official visit to Turkmenistan on January 29 and 30. This was the first visit to Turkmenistan by a State Duma delegation, headed by its chairman, in the last 11 years.
