The national cycling team of Turkmenistan is preparing for the track cycling World Cup 2021. The competition will be held in Ashgabat on October 13-17, 2021. The Velotrack located on the territory of the capital's Olympic campus is the training ground for the Turkmen athletes.
Nargledi Igdyrov, who is a multiple national champion and a KMS. The coach has sufficient experience working with Albert Kolybin, a cycling mentor of international level. The Russian coach was previously the head of our national team. It was he who led the preparation of athletes for the competitions held as part of the V Asian Games, held in 2017.
The Turkmen national team consists of six cyclists who are students of some of the country's universities. Thus, Dovletmurad Bayramov, Arazmuhammed Nurmedov and Babageldy Seyitnazarov study at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, Mahmut Ashirov receives knowledge at the Makhtumkuli TSU, Silav Gylydzhov is a student of the national Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, and Rovshen Amangeldiyev receives knowledge at the Turkmen Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications. This team of cyclists shows consistently high results during their participation in various competitions held in track or road cycling.
At the same time, the reserve team and the women's team, consisting of four athletes - Jennet Klychdurdyeva, Zohre Gurbanmyradova, Aydjemal Bayramova and Sevara Dzhumanazarova - take an active part in training.
Training is done twice a day. In the course of their training the cyclists perform high-speed races on the track, alternating them with classes in the gym. In addition, the athletes also do many kilometers of bicycle races on a special highway. Twice a week the cyclists visit the sauna.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy substantially supports the team. The cyclists are fully provided with nutrition and specialized equipment, as well as receive a sufficient number of vitamins.
