The luxurious Karakum Hotel, under construction in the northern part of Ashgabat, will be opened on May 21, 2021, the 140th anniversary of the capital of Turkmenistan.
The construction of this facility was entrusted to the company Rönesans (Turkey). The building, which stands out for its unusual architecture and decoration, is located at the intersection of Atamurat Niyazov Street and Haji Ahmet Yasawi Street. The capital's International Airport is also located nearby.
As the name suggests, the hotel will be the architectural embodiment of the Karakum. This natural landmark of Turkmenistan is unique. The core of the structure has smooth outlines and golden glazing. The structure also has two side casings. They look like sand sand dunes, the semicircular shape of which seems to embrace the square adjoining the hotel. The square itself is conceived as an oasis in the desert, green and blooming. Addition to architectural ensemble and accent on national coloring is a structure imitating an image of traditional Turkmen yurt. The hotel will become physical embodiment of hospitality of Turkmen people - one of the glorious traits that made it famous for centuries.
The area occupied by the "Karakum" hotel is 6.9 hectares. The structure will serve not only as a hotel, but also as a business center. The construction has 9 floors and is designed for 87 rooms. 17 of them will be Standard-class, 8 - Suite, 47 - Suites and 15 - Super-suites. It is also planned to place a complex of fountains, an open-air swimming pool, parking, a tennis court, as well as areas - for sports and children's games - on the territory of the hotel.
The architectural plan also provides for the construction on the adjoining territory of the hotel of a shopping center, beauty salons, a restaurant for a hundred and fifty seats, a hall for celebrations for half a thousand guests. And the business center will be equipped so that business meetings organized there will be held with maximum comfort.
