The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a press conference with the participation of the world media, during which they discussed the value of peace and trust in the current circumstances. The event was held via video link.
The first speaker at this forum was Chairman of the State News Agency "Turkmenistan Today" Merdan Gazakbaev. In his speech, he briefed the participants on the reforms taking place in the country and presented the ongoing investment projects and events held in honor of two important dates - the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the 140th anniversary of the capital. In conclusion, the speaker thanked his foreign counterparts for their assistance in disseminating information about life in Turkmenistan.
Then the Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), the head of the Russian MGTRK "Mir", and the Deputy General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "All-Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" spoke. Delegates from the key TV and radio broadcasting associations of India, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Georgia also addressed the seminar participants.
The forum participants discussed the current situation and prospects of interaction aimed at consolidating the efforts of mass media to realize the goals of sustainable development. The parties unanimously agreed that the UN support for Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's initiative to declare this year the International Year of Peace and Trust is convincing proof of the effectiveness and relevance of Turkmenistan's position of permanent neutrality in the current global political environment.
It was noted that one of the key areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy is to familiarize the country with the international information space. To this end, Turkmenistan intends to build up partnerships with the world's information and broadcasting associations.
In summarizing the meeting, participants expressed their full and complete support for Turkmenistan's initiatives, emphasizing their commitment to expanding partnerships.
