Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V. Hajiyev participated in the 8th online meeting of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue on April 15. The Minister noted that one of the priority tasks of cooperation between the Central Asian states and Japan is to create conditions for digitalization of the economy. He emphasized the importance of establishing bilateral partnership in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic in the field of health care and epidemiology.
The interlocutors talked about other areas of interaction that would lead to stable development in various sectors and ensure a high level of security in the region. Foreign trade, energy, education, culture and art were named as such areas.
The discussion touched on the Afghan crisis. Dialogue participants emphasized the role of Central Asian countries and Afghanistan's neighbors in resolving the situation.
