Uzbekistan opens polling station for voting in Ashgabat

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Turkmen capital has opened a polling station to allow Uzbek citizens temporarily or permanently staying in Turkmenistan to take part in the referendum. This is reported in the Neutral Turkmenistan daily newspaper.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023, a referendum on the draft constitutional law of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" will be held. The Constitution of Uzbekistan is planned to be amended by 65% and supplemented with 27 new articles. The current Constitution of Uzbekistan has already existed since 1992.

In Ashgabat, the polling station will be located at 50-a Gyorogly Street.
Citizens of Uzbekistan can also vote at mobile polling stations: on April 19 at the hotel "Yupek yoly" in Turkmenabat city and on April 24 at the hotel "Dashoguz" in Dashoguz.
