Turkmenistan discussed the concept of social and behavioral change with UNICEF

An interactive session on social and behavioral change in the context of UNICEF activities in Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat at the UN building. The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, including health, education and social protection, as well as the State Committee on Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and young SDG Ambassadors. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Luca Solimeo, an invited expert, presented a report on approaches to SPI in the world and in UNICEF. Participants discussed the issues of destigmatization of mental health and application of the concept of social-behavioral change in Turkmenistan. The practical guidance on monitoring the development of children under 5 years of age was emphasized.

As part of the interactive work, a mapping of behaviors affecting children's rights was conducted. At the end of the session, the roles of partner organizations in influencing social norms were identified.
