Turkmenistan participated in the working group meeting on Chabahar port issues

A new meeting of the Working Group on Chabahar Port issues at the level of senior officials of Central Asian states and India was held in Mumbai, India, April 12-13. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by the deputy foreign ministers of India and Iran, transport officials and ambassadors of Central Asian countries, the representative of the UN food program in Afghanistan and the Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai.

The sides noted the potential of Chabahar Port as an important link in the North-South Transport Corridor and the Ashgabat Agreement. The participants of the meeting emphasized that the port also plays an important role in trade relations between India and Central Asia and in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

The first meeting of the Working Group resulted in the adoption of the Joint Declaration.
