Expert, Doctor of Technical Sciences Allaberdy Ilyasov spoke about the growing demand for sulfur from foreign companies, which indicates its high export potential. He emphasized that this product of the petrochemical industry of Turkmenistan is in wide demand from companies from Russia, Switzerland, Afghanistan and other countries. The expert noted that Turkmenistan has one of the largest sulfur deposits, which is located near the town of Mandaly in Lebap province. Ilyasov also expressed confidence that the world demand for sulfur will grow until 2036.

Sulphur is widely used in the agrochemical industry. In particular, sulphuric acid is used in the production of phosphoric acid, which, in turn, is used in the production of phosphate fertilizers, which are in demand all over the world.

Thus, the expert noted that the extraction and sale of sulfur is one of the most important areas of Turkmenistan's economy.
