The volume of transit transportation through Turkmenistan increased by 17%

Over the past 2023, the volume of transit transportation through the territory of Turkmenistan increased by 17%. This is reported by the internal publication "TurkmenPortal".

There is a stable growth of cargo transit through Turkmenistan in 2024 as well. Thus, in January-February of this year, this indicator increased by 5% compared to the same period last year.

To increase transit potential, Turkmenistan is implementing a number of measures, including modernization of customs posts, introduction of automated systems, and use of modern inspection equipment. These measures have significantly increased the attractiveness of Turkmenistan in the field of transit cargo transportation.

Transit traffic has tripled since 2020, including a 585% increase in road traffic and a 104% increase in rail traffic.
