Turkmenistan's experts specializing in acute respiratory infections attended the annual meeting on influenza surveillance in the Turkmen capital. This was reported by the online edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
During the meeting, experts focused on the progress made in influenza prevention and control. The following steps were outlined as part of the implementation of the Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Framework.
The participants agreed to strengthen surveillance of viral infections, including zoonotic influenza, in the areas of human and animal health. The importance of promoting the "One Health" principle was emphasized, which will allow for better coordination of influenza surveillance activities.
