President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine Rana Abu Hijleh on June 19, who presented her credentials.
The Palestinian diplomat conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from the President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas. In response, the Turkmen head of state congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed wishes for success in the development of bilateral relations.
President Berdimuhamedov conveyed best wishes to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and emphasized Turkmenistan's commitment to the policy of positive neutrality.
The sides noted that political and diplomatic relations between the two countries are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust, including cooperation within the UN framework. The participants of the meeting emphasized the great potential for the development of bilateral ties in the trade and economic sector and cultural and humanitarian field.
The President of Turkmenistan reiterated readiness to consider specific proposals and initiatives of the Palestinian side. Ambassador Abu Hijleh assured of readiness to make every effort to further develop Palestinian-Turkmen relations.
