The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the Balkan province to inspect the readiness of the National Tourist Zone "Avaza" for the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the visit, the National Leader visited the Congress Center, which will host meetings of various levels within the framework of the upcoming international forum. The modern complex is equipped with large and small halls for international conferences and bilateral meetings, including technical capabilities for online formats.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the necessity of proper preparation of premises and provision of high level of service to foreign representatives. Chairman of Khalk Maslakhaty also familiarized himself with the preparation of hotels in Avaza, where the conference participants will be accommodated.
While cruising the waters of the Caspian Sea on a ship, the National Leader examined the progress of work to expand the tourist zone. He was presented with projects to renovate facilities for cultural events, including theatrical interactive sea fountains, teahouses and playgrounds.
Within the framework of the international forum it is planned to organize a unique festival of friendship with the participation of representatives from Central Asia and other countries. The territory of the Avaza NTZ has been significantly transformed in recent years with the construction of fashionable hotels, cottage settlements and park and recreational infrastructure.
Following the visit, a working meeting was held with the heads of relevant departments on the issues of increasing the pace of work, taking into account the tight deadlines before the start of the international forum. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of highlighting the historical significance of the upcoming conference in the media.
The International Forum is one of the main events of the International Year of Peace and Trust announced by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan.
