Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev meet in Turkmenbashi

Turkmenbashi, August 4 - Arzuw.news. National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. Arzuw.news reports citing a source.

The Uzbek leader congratulated the Turkmen side on the successful holding of the international forum and emphasized the relevance of the discussed issues for the sustainable development of the region.

During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership. They paid special attention to the implementation of the agreements reached at the meeting in Samarkand in April this year.

According to the results of seven months of 2025, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries reached 600 million dollars. Cooperation in the spheres of industry, energy, transportation, agriculture and water management continues to expand.

Plans include holding meetings of intergovernmental commissions, Business Council, Forum of Regions and cultural events. Preparations for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States to be held in Tashkent in the fall were also discussed.

The President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and the President of Sao Tome and Principe Carlos Manuel Vila Nova are also participating in the UN conference.
