Turkmenistan and Iran discuss development of cooperation

The President of Turkmenistan received the First Vice President of Iran

Avaza, August 6 - Arzuw.news. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has held a meeting with First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which is held in the National Tourist Zone Avaza. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Iranian Vice President conveyed greetings from IRI President Masoud Pezeshkian and congratulated the Turkmen side on the successful holding of the international forum.

During the talks, the sides discussed the prospects of developing bilateral cooperation based on the principles of good-neighborliness, friendship, fraternity and equality. Special attention was paid to effective partnership in trade and economic, fuel and energy, transportation and communication, construction and agricultural sectors.

The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of intensifying the private sector dialog between the two countries. Considerable attention was paid to interaction in the cultural and humanitarian sphere for further rapprochement of the Turkmen and Iranian peoples.

The head of Turkmenistan reaffirmed the country's readiness to support joint initiatives in science, education, culture, art and sports. The parties expressed confidence in further successful development of interstate relations.
