Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Pakistan A. Movlamov met with Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Austria Wolfgang Oliver Kuchera on August 11 in Islamabad. The Turkmen side presented the main priorities of the country's foreign policy in the regional context. Adherence to the principles of neutrality, good-neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation was emphasized.
Turkmenistan expressed readiness for active participation in the development of multilateral cooperation to strengthen mutual understanding and trust among the countries of the region.
The meeting participants paid special attention to major international energy projects. They talked about the TAPI and TAP gas pipelines, which contribute to the diversification of export routes of Turkmen energy resources.
The Parties noted the importance of these initiatives for strengthening regional energy security and connectivity.
Following the talks, both sides expressed interest in maintaining active diplomatic interaction and further strengthening of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria.
