Young mathematicians of Turkmenistan will perform at the World Oral Counting Championship in Germany

Eight students from Turkmenistan will take part in the upcoming World Junior Oral Counting Championship to be held from October 4 to 6 in the German city of Bielefeld. The international competition, which annually gathers more than a hundred participants from twenty countries, will host young representatives of Turkmenistan for the first time. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The national team was prepared at the "Kämil bilim" training center, where schoolchildren from different regions of the country underwent intensive training. The delegation included pupils of specialized schools in Ashgabat, Balkanabat and Turkmenabat who passed a strict national selection in April this year. At the qualifying round, the contestants successfully coped with solving complex arithmetic problems without the use of auxiliary materials within the set two hours.

The participation of Turkmen schoolchildren in the prestigious international championship reflects the growing attention to the development of mathematics education and support for gifted youth in the country.
