Marat Khusnullin's visit to Turkmenistan gave a new impetus to bilateral ties

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit. This is reported by the news agency "Westiabad".

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation conveyed greetings from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, noting the high level of strategic partnership.

The head of state emphasized the importance of the visit for strengthening the intergovernmental dialogue and expressed confidence that the talks would give a new impetus to the development of cooperation.

At the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their aspiration to expand the strategic partnership developing on the principles of friendship, trust and equality. The sides noted the successful cooperation within the UN, CIS and the Central Asia-Russia format, as well as the importance of strengthening trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.

On the same day, the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The parties discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements and new areas of partnership.

As a result of the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including the Protocol of the Commission and agreements on cooperation in the spheres of education, agriculture, horse breeding, activities of commodity exchanges and customs services.

The talks confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan and Russia to further strengthen mutually beneficial interaction and utilize the potential of bilateral cooperation.
