António Guterres concludes visit to Turkmenistan

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres concluded his visit to Turkmenistan. The Secretary-General was seen off by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, at Ashgabat International Airport. Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan invited António Guterres to Turkmenistan in 2025, when the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the status of permanent neutrality in Turkmenistan will be celebrated.

The UN Secretary General thanked the National Leader of the Turkmen people for the warm welcome on the Turkmen land and for the invitation. He noted the important role of Turkmenistan in addressing the pressing issues of the current agenda at the international level.
