Armenian President visits the mausoleum of 15th century Turkmen emirs

On August 21, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the historical mausoleum of Turkmen emirs Garagoyunla of the 15th century, located in Argavand village of Ararat region. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Armenia.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia J. Andreasyan, representatives of the presidential staff, as well as the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia M. Ayazov and the staff of the diplomatic mission.

During the visit, the Armenian head of state was presented the historical value of the monument and told about the restoration works carried out. The mausoleum is a unique architectural structure testifying to the presence of Turkmen tribes in the territory of modern Armenia in the medieval period.

Ambassador Ayazov noted the special role of cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the development of bilateral Turkmen-Armenian relations. The preservation and study of the common historical heritage contributes to the strengthening of ties between the peoples of the two countries.
