On the eve of the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence, large-scale preparations for the celebrations are underway in the capital.
Deputy Prime Minister B. Annamamedov reported at Friday's extended government session that the city is repairing and improving buildings, landscaping parks and squares, planting ornamental flowers, Watan news program reported.
Special attention is paid to the festive decoration of Ashgabat - thematic images, inscriptions and decorative elements are placed on the avenues, streets and buildings.
In addition, solemn ceremonies, cultural and mass events, exhibitions, scientific and practical consultations are planned. There will be festive concerts, opening of new facilities, and equestrian competitions.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of worthy celebration of the main state holiday and gave a number of specific instructions on the organization of events.
