Ashgabat joins the unesco Creative Cities Network

On October 31, Ashgabat officially joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the category "Design" by decision of Director General Audrey Azoulay. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen capital received the new status based on the results of the work carried out since 2021 in accordance with modern international urban trends together with UNESCO specialists and experts.

Ashgabat is recognized by the international community as a beautiful and high-tech city of the world. Cities included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network are leaders in contemporary cultural development and the use of creativity for sustainable development.
Fifty-five cities around the world have been granted the legal status of UNESCO Creative Cities this year.
