A joint Turkmen-Iranian exhibition of tourism and applied art has been organized in the exhibition hall of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The exhibition presents traditional handicrafts of the peoples of Turkmenistan and Iran, items of national heritage and samples of modern art of masters of the two countries. As part of the exhibition opening ceremony, representatives of the tourism sector of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran met to discuss prospects for cooperation.
The sides noted the expediency of popularization of tourist routes on the border of the countries, where many historical monuments have been preserved. In particular, the sides emphasized that the graves of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi and his father - poet and scientist Dovletmammet Azadi - are particularly important sights of these places.
